Asante Kotoko Grabs First Group Stage Win In The 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup

A game that was touted to be one of the toughest game for the porcupine warriors, analysing the opponent ended up being a virtual walk over for Asante Kotoko as they won by 2 – 1 against Zambian side Zesco United.

Zesco United heading into their second group game against Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko had already had an easy win against another Zambian side Nkana FC the team of former Ashanti Gold Player Richard Ocran.

Asante Kotoko had also lost it’s first group game to Al Hilal of Sudan in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

First goal from Agustine Sefah with an assist from Songne Yakouba in the 9Th minutes silenced the roaring visitors as it was doubled in the 29Th minutes by Emmanuel Gyamfi with an assist from Songne Yakouba.

The visitors came back stronger in the second half to draw one back through a header from Rahim Osmanu who was introduced in the 64 minutes.

The game ended 2 – 1 in favour of the porcupine warriors which puts them in the 3rd position in their group with no goal.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their next game will travel to Zambia to battle it out with Nkana FC on 24Th February 2019.
