The currently elected Ashanti regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman Nana Kwesi Andrews has stated that Ashanti region is not the strong hold for the current government in power. (NPP)
The indefatigable chairman made this statement in an interview with Samuel Kwabena Mensah aka Blacq Sam , the host of National Affairs on Help FM 103.9, when he was quizzed on how the NDC can lump more in a region that seems to be the strong hold of their direct political rivals.
Nana Kwesi Andrews didn’t second with that statement and he said
” I don’t agree with that assertion because in as much as NPP has been getting more votes than the NDC it doesn’t mean Ashanti region is the strong hold of the NPP because we have been challenging them in terms of votes.”
Not withstanding all odds,
Nana Kwesi Andrews also added
“From 1992, the votes we (NDC) have been amassing in the region has been increasing every four years. ”
