The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) finally held a meeting with the world governing football body, FIFA, ending smoothly.
A statement on the ministry’s twitter handle reveals so.
“The meeting between Government and the delegation from @FIFAcom this afternoon was very successful”.
On Friday, June 22 FIFA chosen delegation arrived in Ghana to jaw, jaw the challenges facing the country’s football. As a result of Ace investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Ana’s number 12 exercise on corruption in the game.
Currently, all football relating activities are suspended awaiting the government proposal to dissolve the Ghana Football Association.
The three man delegation were supposed to have meet the Sports Ministry on Thursday but was called off, due to the disagreement between the MoYS and FIFA of holding meeting with the GFA.
The substance of the government requesting to speak to the helm of football in the world, is in relevance of avoiding heavy punishment from FIFA should government interfer or intervene in the activities of the Ghana Football Association.By way of dissolution.
Meanwhile, the injunction seek from Accra high court by Attorney General Madam Sophia Akuffo restraining the association from operating elapses on 22 June.
